We are saddened to share that we have lost our friend and colleague, Kevin Brown. His presence was apparent in every corner of our organization with the warmth, dedication, and wisdom he shared. As a former board member, Board President, and member of our Construction Committee, Kevin played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of our endeavors, and guiding us with his vision and commitment. His role as our Construction Supervisor for several years, exemplified not only his expertise but also his hands-on approach and willingness to go above and beyond for the betterment of our projects, our organization, and our community. He had a special skill for leading and teaching our volunteer groups. As the Building Trades CTE Instructor, he continued his partnership with HfH HiawathaLand with his students, working on rehab houses and on projects in the Blanchard Center. Beyond titles and roles, Kevin was a cherished friend whose kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have left this world too soon, his legacy of leadership, passion, and camaraderie will continue to inspire us, guiding our steps as we honor his memory.![]()

This picture was taken the day he interviewed for his position with the DS-ISD at Manistique High School. He was very happy to have been given the opportunity to teach in Manistique and was looking forward to moving here and calling this community "home".
